It was a beautiful moment when a human form appeared unintentionally in this piece as I painted. I had a forest scene in mind with a stag looking out from the shadows. There is a feeling of calmness as he watches over someone as they stroll through his territory, maybe the person has a sensed his presence but not been able to spot him. This gave me the idea for the title.
To shadow means to follow and observe someone closely and in sometimes in secret. How often do you have that feeling that someone is walking with you or close by in times of need?
